Lindsey Carter
Originally from Gillette, WY, Lindsey Carter began dancing at age four, contributing fourteen years of training to Yvette Sparks Dance Center and Live 2 Dance. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Dance from the University of Wyoming in December 2014. Within the university’s dance department, Lindsey was selected to perform in an array of shows, including Carmina Burana as a soloist, From the Ashes: A Cinderella Ballet as a Stepsister, and the Arabian soloist in The Nutcracker. During a semester-long residency, the Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company also reset multiple pieces on students in a production titled Continuous Momentum: Lindsey studied under Bill T. Jones, Catherine Cabeen, Nicole Smith, and Janet Wong and was chosen to perform in “Power/Full” and “Duet.” She was also asked to contribute to the university's musical production of Working as Assistant Choreographer in 2014.
Other guest artists Ms. Carter has worked with include Andre Megerdichian, Julia Mayo, Brent Schneider, and Aaron Wood. As an avid traveler, Lindsey also participated in the London Semester in 2012, a 12-week study abroad program where she expanded her dance education, training with Mandy Montanez, Anna du Boisson, and Stephen Pelton.
Additionally, Lindsey completed her Secondary Education Bachelor of Arts degree with a concurrent major in English, graduating in May 2015. Her passion for teaching dance is enhanced by the crossover of her two degrees, solidifying her techniques and spirit as an educator.
